With the recent tornado in Moore, OK., a few people have asked "does Andale High School have a tornado shelter?"  Prior to 2010 and the bond issue, the locker rooms acted as the tornado shelter. Although they met the criteria for an approved shelter, they did not meet the standards required as a "FEMA" shelter. 
With the construction of the fine arts wing in 2010, the band room was made into a FEMA approved safe room.  Andale High School students now take cover in the band room in the event of a tornado.  AHS has had at least 2 drills every year.  The band room has plenty of room for all students and staff.  An average drill takes around 5 minutes to get all students and staff into the band room.
